Several dozen 1964 Special Mint Sets were produced for unknown reasons. These coins were struck with a satin-like finish, and unlike the coins found in standard Mint Sets, are considered to be separate issues from the circulation coins.ĭue to the fact that no proof sets were produced from 1965 to 1967, many proof set collectors obtain Special Mint Sets to complete their collections of "yearly proof set" collections. Instead, a "Special Mint Set" was made available, containing one example of each denomination produced at the San Francisco Mint. The USDT also announced that no proof or uncirculated coin sets would be produced from 1965 through 1967. This led to a significant drop in price and an increase in popularity.ĭue to a shortage of coins blamed on coin collectors, the United States Department of the Treasury introduced the Coinage Act of 1965, which mandated that mint marks would be removed from all coinage for five years. This change allowed both sides of the coins to be displayed, and eliminated the need to include two examples of each coin. In 1959, the packaging of the Mint Set was changed to cellophane pouches. The reason for this was so that collectors could display both the obverse and reverse of each coin in the set's packaging, which allowed only one side of the coin to be displayed.īecause of the sulfur content in the cardboard packaging, many coins included in the sets developed toning. The Uncirculated Mint Set was introduced in 1947, containing two examples of each coin issued for circulation packaged in a cardboard display case. The set is marketed towards coin collectors as a way to obtain circulation coins in mint condition. The United States Uncirculated Coin Set, known as the Uncirculated Set or Mint Set in the United States, is an annual coin set sold by the United States Mint. The Hyper Street Fighter Alpha mode included in the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology has several extra variations of the ISMs: Instead of a letter, this unnamed ISM displays the Shadaloo logo next to the Super Gauge. In addition, the characters have access to air blocking, taunting and all of their Super Combos, just as in A-ISM. However, as the three segments are not indicated, the player has to judge which level they are at by looking at how much of the gauge has been charged up. Despite appearing to be a 1-level gauge like X-ISM, it actually functions like A-ISM, with three gauge levels. There is also an unnamed ISM, nicknamed the Shadaloo-ISM, which is used by some bosses in Arcade Mode, specifically Balrog, Juli, Juni and M. On X-ISM, Gen will not use two different fighting styles, but rather a combination of both. The main difference is the recovery animation. On A-ISM and V-ISM, Sagat will have his Tiger Blow (from the previous Alpha games) as his anti-air move, and on X-ISM he will have his Tiger Uppercut from SFII.When fighting X-ISM Sodom, his theme music will also be different. On A-ISM and V-ISM, he will use his pair of jitte. On X-ISM, Sodom will use his katanas from Final Fight. Her portrait changes accordingly as well. On A-ISM and V-ISM, her costume is the one featured in the Alpha series. On X-ISM, Chun-Li's costume is the one she uses in Street Fighter II and its many iterations. On A-ISM and V-ISM, the sprite is the upgraded appearance of the projectile from the Alpha series.Additionally, the Shinku Hadoken resembles the sprite from Super Street Fighter II Turbo. On X-ISM, the Hadoken resembles the sprite from Super Street Fighter II, including the direct variation of appearance based on strength of button used.Interestingly, the ISM selected can also change the appearance of certain graphics - the most apparent cases being the following: - It costs half an OC gauge to use an Alpha Counter.- Damage per hit is lower than in any other mode.+ Can only use Custom Combos instead of Super Combos.+ Determine which range of attacks the character uses (far or close), by leaving the controller neutral or holding it forward/back when a Punch or Kick is pressed (does not apply to the button used to grab nor generally apply to all characters).+ Alpha Counters (these cost 50% of a full Original Combo gauge and 1 notch of the Guard Power gauge).- Shorter Guard Power gauge than in X-ISM (so it is easier to get Guard Crushed).- Damage per hit is average (less than in X-ISM and more than in V-ISM).+ Access to all Super Combos (excluding Cody and Dhalsim).+ SC gauge charges up faster than in X-ISM.+ Taunting (once per round only, excluding Dan).
